It amazes me how men react to women. Here God gave us an impeccable creature to love, protect, and cherish, and what happens??? Instead we do the complete opposite!
But let me clarify something before I go on. By "we" I mean men, but by the grace of the Almighty, I was spared those character traits. I'm not into the whole doggin' a woman out scenario. I don't believe in cheating, lying, and scheming my way through love. In that respect, I am completely in tuned with my sensitive side. And hey, call me what you like, but that's what a woman wants. When was the last time you heard a woman say "I want a brother that's gonna cheat on me, and tell me lies."?
Yeah, my point exactly. But here is the part that confuses me. Women say they want a certain type of man, but then they go for a completely different kind of brother. Which brings me to my boys... Nate, Rico, and Pete.
The four of us go way back since grade school. We grew up in the same neighborhood, played for the same football team, liked the same girls, and all that junk. Honestly, that's kinda the reason I hold on to them... we just have a bond, but to be real I don't agree with ninety percent of the things that they do.
Take Nate for instance, here is a brother that just gets things handed to him. He falls into the rich kid category. His family has always had money, so he doesn't really appreciate things. His grandad started a business way back when, and now the whole family is set for generations to come. He and Mia started dating back in college. Real pretty little thing, smart, and has all of her ducks in a row. She has been there for this man through thick and thin, through his struggles, through him cheating, through his mother's death, and everything else, she even married this man! And to this day he still has not been faithful to her...
Then there is Rico, this dude can't be committed to a woman to save his life. He puts on a good front, like he is this holier than thou Christian man on some spiritual quest for righteousness. But really, he uses the house of God to prey on women, and I don't mean in the holy sense. You should see him in action, he goes around breaking up homes, lying to women, whispering words of forever, then he leaves them high and dry for the next fine thing...
And, Pete. Yup good 'ole Pete. This one may be the worst type of brother there is. He is actually good to a woman. He wines her, dines her, and makes her feel all special. He is courteous, practices chivalry, and all that. He has a woman in love by the end of the first date, and he is not after that "one thing" because he knows he can get it. Instead, he makes a woman fall head over heels with him, it's like some sort of game for him. He flips the script on a sister, having her showering him with gifts before it's all over. Then, in the end, he just breaks their spirit, he finally gives it up and if he figures she wasn't worth the wait (and she never is), he moves on. Twisted, but that's Pete for ya.
And finally,. last but not least there is "Moi". Like I mentioned, I'm a 'lil past the whole playing games thing. I'm the type of brother that's looking for that real love. That can't eat, can't sleep, think about you every second of the day, don't want to leave your side, type of love. But, because of brothers like Nate, Rico and Pete, I can't find it. Sisters walk around expecting all dudes to have a trick or two up their sleeve, and they walk into relationships with hate, revenge, spite, and mistrust on the brain. Then I spend all of my time and energy softening her heart, and teaching her to love again, just to turn around and find out that she's cheating on me, because she thinks I'm cheating on her!
Long story short, I can't do that anymore! No more games, no more drama, I just figured it's time I learn from the game... sit back and really study it, before getting back on the court. So with the help of Nate, Rico, and Pete, I will finally defeat the typical man...
